About me
I graduated with a B.A. in Italian Studies and couldn’t find a job. As a result, I had a lot of free time. Before I knew it, I was hooked on Martha Stewart Living. After watching Martha for about four months I had a mild interest in baking and I decided to look for a job in a bakery until I found my ideal job. Eventually I was hired to be a dishwasher at a boutique bridal bakery.
I had been washing dishes for about a month when one of the baking assistants called in sick. The owner asked me if I would help with the day’s production. I said yes and my mild interest became a bit of an obsession. I would continue to help whenever it was needed in the shop and rather quickly my curiosity for baking took on a life of its own. I became an annoyance at work. I would constantly pepper whoever was working in the shop with every baking question that I had. Eventually, the owner and a baking assistant suggested that I apply to culinary school. So, I applied to the Culinary Institute of America and started classes a year later. After two years, I received an Associate’s Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts.

I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of culinary environments, such as hotel kitchens, cupcake bakeries, chocolate shops, restaurants, catering and as a decorator for a cookie company.
